I've been listening to music on Josh's iPod a lot recently. Ordinarily I would get my melodic fix while driving to and from work (and anywhere else for that matter) in the car but due to the fact that I can't drive until December, at the very least, I can't really listen to it there so I've had to rely on the iPod. Josh's is the Classic that has an 80GB memory and despite having 309 albums on it and a collection of digital photographs, still has over 56GB of capacity left. When we eventually get our stuff, even if I add all our other CDs on (over 400 more), it still won't be full and I'd be concerned that the iMac will start to run slower, but I'm not sure.
Any ideas?
Evie and Tracey have a Nano each but rarely use them.
Anyway, my question is, do I need an iPod and if so, what type do I get? A Shuffle is way too small and the Classic is way too big from my recent experience. The new Nano has a camera and a decent capacity but the one that is grabbing my attention is the iTouch, but only because it has the ability to play games on it. Other than that I don't see the benefit. I already have a Blackberry for work so don't need another box that does stuff on the internet or store personal records.
This is, of course, all academic because I won't be allowed one anyway.
I bought an iPod touch a couple of weeks ago. Finally gave way to the modern thing. I love it. You can flip through the album sleeves like looking though your record collection which gives it an extra something for me. I also bought the car attachment that allows you to play it through your car radio so my car is now clear of cds. Bonus. I think you need one but the headphones are rubbish.
ReplyDeleteYes, the headphones are crap and break really easily if you use them too much. I'm going to get a proper pair of headphones...the big ones that cover your ears instead of inside them. We also play Josh's iPod in the car but we have a jack plug already in the stereo that you plug the iPod into. We just had to buy a wee cable with the same plug at either end and away we go.
ReplyDeleteWe have most of the Ipods you've mentioned, and all work well.
ReplyDeleteThe ipod touch is an incredible piece of kit, by far the quickest way for me to check my emails when I'm at home and the kids have taken up the computers.
I do have one concern, and that is they all need iTunes which is awfull in my opinion.
This more than likely won't be the case as you have the computer that all things apple want to speak to, so I don't think you will see much difference in speed.
I don't use the apple headphones as I get sweaty lugs if I use them, so tend to use on-ear ones that I can wear for ages and seem to give a better sound anyway.
If you just want millions of music on a portable device the Classic is the one to go for.
The rage of free applications you can get for the touch is incredible though!
